12 : Easy Sweet and Sour Spare Ribs

I think we’ve seen too many tv commercials that this specific fast food chain and their sweet and sour pork dish has taken a hold of us. hahaha! Who could blame them? Their commercial is very effective! Since I plan to prepare a dish other than beef and chicken, here’s a simple recipe that will tickle your taste buds. Check it out!

Ingredients:

Around 250g (?) pork spare ribs, cut into pieces (approx. 14 pcs.)

Oil for frying

12 pcs. pineapple chunks, sliced

1/2 red bell pepper, sliced in thick sizes

75g cornstarch (its in a small box)

1 tbsp oil

A pinch of salt, pepper and sugar

2 tbsp. ketchup

Sweet and sour sauce

1 egg, beaten

Mix pork spare ribs with the marinade :

  1.  Add brown sugar
  2. Mix with beaten egg
  3. Add a pinch of salt
  4. Also add a pinch of black pepper

Then set aside for around 15 minutes.

Next,  prepare the pineapple and red bell pepper slices ( no photos hehe)

Pour cornstarch in a bowl and mix the spare ribs in it

Heat oil in high heat, then deep-fry spare ribs until golden yellow/brown

Drain and set aside

Actually, you could also serve it as it is. HAHA. it’s very tasty already! 🙂

Saute red bell pepper in 1 tbsp. oil

Add pineapple chunk slices

Add sweet and sour sauce and 2 tbsp. ketchup and mix them

Add spare ribs and stir well

And it’s finish! Yes!

Here you go! The easy to cook sweet and sour spare ribs. Best eaten with lots of rice hahaha. No diet for today. 🙂
